About Us
KidzStuff mission is to provide the best foundation for children birth to five through a Christian education with a focus on closing the school readiness gap in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
A generation of resilient young learners who are school ready, equipped with faith like Caleb, are fearless like David, and can lead like Deborah.
How it all came to be
In 1988, the parents of 60 preschool children, ages two through five, enrolled their children in KidzStuff (then known as the Tressler Discovery Center) because they were looking for safe, secure child care that would nurture their children and provide every opportunity to experience the world around them.
Growing with the community
Today, the program and the needs of the parents have grown so that the center serves nearly 100 preschoolers and 50 school-age children during the academic year, and an additional 20 school-age children during the summer months.
KidzStuff is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education Office – Office of Child Care.
The trained staff members of KidzStuff work hard to help children, ages six weeks through 12, develop independent thinking while maintaining the ability to express themselves effectively. By encouraging the use of imagination, creativity, and curiosity, staff members guide the children’s learning and serve as advisers, comforters, and active participants in play.
KidzStuff partners with community businesses and organizations that support the program’s efforts to provide a quality learning environment for children through financial or in-kind contributions.
Partners in Quality Care include Loyola College, United Way of Central Maryland, The Family League of Baltimore City, and the Maryland State Department of Education Child and Adult Care Food Program.
KidzStuff serves all children regardless of race or religious affiliation, while offering Christian-based values and education.
